A heads up to shooters outbound travel from Tullamarine airport
Qantas recently failed a security audit at this airport and have implemented new measures
They are now required to verify you have a firearm in your case
However, they have no method of scanning your case at the oversize baggage counter
So against their own DG advise,,, the security company has been directed to cut your yellow DG tape
You are then requested to open you case so they can view the firearm
Then relock case, retape, then onto the oversize luggage belt.
There's a lot I could say about this practise but hopefully someone with the right contacts will have it reviewed
