Post a photo of your local range.

I have this pic of my local (Cessnock) taken at the 800 yd mound with the clubhouse in frame on my desktop & often look at it as a reminder of my "happy Place"
It got me wondering what others might be like. I have seen pics of some of the bigger & more Prominent ranges like Belmont, Anzac & Silverdale but what of the other more quaint or remote ranges? (still keen to see good pics of the more common ones too)
care to share a pic or two?

Image

Pic taken facing basically due Sth, maybe a little to the SSW so winds mostly come from the 10 & 11 O' clock position but often fishtailing straight down the line too.
Shame it is not as clear as the original I have.

Mick.

What a lovely looking range that Lower Light is, when all the time I'd been led to believe it was dry and barren without a tree in sight. You've also captured it at one of those rare occasions where there seems to be enough wind to ruffle the flags, you must have waited out there for months for a fleeting chance of a shot like that. Even rarer is the fact that they are all at the same height and going the same direction combined with having the targets visible through the mirage makes this the shot of a lifetime. Congratulations on your effort.
Regards Malcolm.

Look, and there is Bruce, obviously pointing in such amazement at the lovely row of trees that have just appeared out of nowhere.

I vote Tetris for Lower Light Landscape Officer.

He has the vision, now all he has to do is make it happen.

We wish him every success in his endeavours !

billy and paul,
yes our beautification programme is coming along well.
the grassing is progressing as you can see.
sara purchased mature trees, in order to have them fully established by the next queens.
all the clubhouses are now adorned with either doric, ionic, or corinthian columns, and marble facades.
behind the clubhouses is a botanic garden where you could spend hours.
i was a little concerned that the trees would disrupt the windflow, but as you can see, they have just filtered it to a regular, gentle, predictable condition.
i was also concerned that the greening might worsen the mirage, but as you can see it has improved it out of hand. it is now readable friendly, and the targets are chrystal clear to aim at.
those interstaters who limped away from here wounded and bleeding, can return safe in the knowledge that 60.10s are now the norm here.
of course we did not have the marquees up when that photo was taken, because the weather was perfect, as it usually is there. but rest assured we do have them at the ready for a minute's notice.
keep safe,
bruce.

I'm so sorry, but I have resigned from the Landscape Committee but I'm sure you'll agree that my results it the Building Committee speak for themselves.
Matt and I worked very hard overnight to make this possible...
No more flag duties!
