Nagambie RC Come and Try Day

Hi all,

Some of you may have seen this come around on Facebook, just wanted to give some feedback on how things went.

What a day!

A massive thank you to everyone who turned out today at our Come and Try Day.

A total of 67 shooters! Absolutely unbelievable attendance, some from 2 or more hours away.

Great to see so many new faces from so many walks of life, be it altogether new shooters, old shooters returning, hunters, Defence personnel, doctors. Everyone complied perfectly with the safety instructions and directions given at the morning briefing, which helped make our jobs easier.

The weather was chaotic, wind, rain, sunshine, more wind.

A big shoutout to our members who helped in the lead up to today, and kept things on track throughout the day. Special thanks to Pedro from Karramomus for the extra set of hands.

This is what we achieved with a club of active members that you can count on two hands (with some fingers to spare). Three targets, one of which failed before the day began. 6 members on site, 67 visitors. A couple of Sporting Hunter rifles for people to use and one TR on a bipod. A big tin of factory ammo at $2 a shot. I absolutely encourage every club to give this a go. Throw a couple of rifles down, get a tin of ADI cheapie ammo, set up at 300 and advertise the hell out of it on Facebook.
