#1 Postby Lynn Otto » Sun Mar 19, 2006 9:15 pm

I know this isn't F Class but.....

"The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games

Fullbore shooters Bruce Scott and James Corbett have won Silver in the Open Full Pairs at the Wellsford (Bendigo) range!

Sunday 19th March - Bruce and James were obviously up against some tough competition. The Gold Medal winners were Glyn Barnett and Paraq Patel of England who managed 594.87 with Bruce and James only one point behind with 593.74. Bronze for this event went to Md ZainalAbidin Bin and Hamsan Zulkeflee Bin of Malaysia who scored an equally impressive 592.72."

Lynn, Bruce Scott is a member of our club -The Townsville Marksmens Rifle Club inc. and we are all very proud of his effort. I just hope he can pull it off and win Gold. If anybody deserves a medal - he does. The dedication and training, (not to mention the personal expense) Bruce has endured, over the last two years, is mind boggling. He definitly has what it takes to be a true Champion.

A little snippet - I marked Bruce's target for him, a couple of weeks ago at 600m, one of the rare times he has been home in the last twelve months, and his accuracy was 4 shots dead center 1" group. 4 shots at 4 O'clock V again 1" group. One shot 9 O'clock bull Eye, and one shot, 3 o"clock bull eye - score 50.08. All cartridges used were NRAA off the shelf issue.

this is the first time I have ever seen 1" groups at 600meters, and that people, was with peep sights - makes my F open groups look a little sick.

We've all got everything crossed for Bruce to win the Gold. Maybe the lady might smile down at him tomorrow. 8) 8) 8)

Might I just add that Bruce's score was 403.60.

James Corbett came in on Bronze with a score of 401.57 behind Paraq Patel of England on 402.57, it was very tight.

Well done to both our Australian guys, you have done us proud.

And for the South Australians, David LeQuesne finished 22nd on 393.36.

Top effort Bruce and James.=D>

I know there's been a few doubters whether Bruce has what it takes. That's a very convincing reply!

And Australian shooting results overall have been great. Funny how you don't hear much out of the anti-gun lobby when the medals are rolling in :? .
