I heard a rumor that suppressors may become legal in SA under permit.

Hi Tony we shot 300y yesterday and she was shooting it in FTR it shot well. The noise is about the same as a 22Mag going off l suppose.Talking to some of the locals and they shoot them all the way back to 1000y.Over a couple of Milk Shakes last night Mark was saying that their is probably some advantages in using one.Less felt recoil and they don't jump off target just to name a few.We would probably never be able to use them but it might extend the life of some of our ranges that find themselves having New Housing Estates comming closer no noise no complaints.

Keep your mind on the job Michael. You have to resist these temptations, no matter how inviting they may be...

Teams practice is over. And tomorrow we shoot the Teams match. The NZ guys put on a BBQ for us and it was fantastic with lots of food and friendly Banter.I have taken some pics and will send them to Alan and with luck he will post them for me as l can't over here with the iPad.The FTR team has a couple of young Guys shooting in it Liam & Chris. Now to all the young Fopen and FTR boys out there get practicing becouse I have a picture here of what NZ Markers look like and if this doesn't give the young guys a incentive then nothing will.Hopfully Alan can post the pics for me.

Thanks for posting the pics Alan.In FO we have a mix of 7 WSM and 284s all of them shot well in windy conditions yesterday I'm the odd one out with my puny 6.5x47 .The Big South African had to be dragged from each range as he rattled off all he could no stopping him.And when u weren't looking would sneak back and rattle off some more.Weight in was tightly scrutinised with lots looking on we all come in under in FO and FTR.One NZ shooter for FO come in to have he's rifle weighed and it come in 10 grams over the allowed 10kg.Ten mins later he turned up with 3 bits of metal that he had hacked off he's rifle from somewhere they made him go and get the rifle and yes he come in at 9.997 KG,One of the things that they do in NZ at prize meetings that l think is a good ideas all the grades shoot at the same time. All the FO together TR A and then B and so on .That way no one gets an advantage or disadvantage with the conditions.Well off now to the range.
Thanks Michael H

Here is a link that normally gives an almost live view of the range. For some reason today it is stuck. Will check later to see if it has updated.
http://www.wmac.org.nz/trenthamweather/
Go right to the bottom of the screen and there is a view that gives 5 shots at 1 minute interval repeating.
Love to watch those flags on typical windy Trentham days when you see them changing from hard left to hard right between frames.

Haha it looks like it's not just in shooting that Liam does better than his old man. No Poll Dorsets for Liam. Sorry Michael, I know you said it was a good looking one
Cheers

Can't hurt to do some marker "tuning" while they are at it!? Those lines can get a awfully thick when done rite! Haha
Great to see the young shooters getting the opportunity to mix with some of Australia's best!
Good luck, stay focused and concentrate on one shot and one point at a time.
