SA QUEENS and HUNT LEADUP
Photos are stolen from Jenni Hauslers Facebook page.
Looks like Stuart Braund is in fine form this week.
In FTR, the Fairbairn bus rolls on. He is continuing the awesome form shown for many months
Only two starters in each of F Std A and F Std B in Jennis photos (but maybe they were the "badges board)
In F Std A it was B Wingrove on 341-15 from J Freebairn on 340-16
In F Std B it was C Green on 338-15 from T Haythorpe on 331-7.
Mirko Teglasi leads the TR A Grade field, and is no doubt keen to add Lower Light 2015 to his CV
Hopefully his wife will keep posting photos for me to steal

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

What a piss poor effort from the S.A shooters. The lead up is already over and there have been no gossip, rumours, slagging, sledging or wild stories so far.
At least give us keyboard marksmen some stories. How are the conditions compared to previous year?

Basically 65% of Stuarts shots were less than .5moa over 2 days and six ranges. Handloading, condition analysis & management, mental focus and consistency through everything.
Unreal Stuart.
Damn this game is cool. Especially when people play it well.

Re: SA QUEENS and HUNT LEADUP
From the scores and by all reports the conditions are MUCH better than usual. They pinched the weekend that out club normally holds our OPM and it's generally pretty cream weather. Over the next month or so is usually the best time of year to shoot high scores or do testing in SA. As long as the rain holds off it should be a good change and hopefully attract a few more interstaters. Being so close to the vic queens may be its downside though for the working class.
From reports shooters have been able to use FULL magnification and even see the X ring at 800m which is quite a novelty. Generally you do well run above 15x and make out the 5 ring.
I think stuart has been putting a fair bit of work into tuning recently and once he gets his game face on with a good rifle he is bloody tough to beat especially on his home turf.
Tim manning is holding his own with a new barrel and very limited load development (this he was still doing run in during the leadup)
Unfortunately I've got too much on at work and home to be able to make the queens and put in enough prep for the teams so I won't be joining the festivities this year but aiming to be set up for Brisbane. If I get some time sunday I'm hoping to make it out to presentations and maybe burn some powder at the last 800. Might catch a few more details tonight at the AGM

Re: SA QUEENS and HUNT LEADUP
Hey Norm, which is "him" ? Is he a crusty looking old bugger ?
According to JHfacebook page , it's 19deg, warm and sunny. Light Right wind from the West at 1-5moa
TRA 35 starters. TRB 23 starters. TRC 10 starters
FOpen 12 starters, FTR 13 starters, Std A 8 starters and Std B also 8 starters ....which adds up to about 109.
Something funny going on with the scores. They finally had some up at about 1pm, showing the day finished, and noted that Rod Mahon was listed as leading Mark Fairbairn by 1 pt...... But now it just shows the first range. Keen to see the days update.

Great day at the office for Stuart Braund, to not drop a shot all day
Great to see big Col Sutton from Goondiwindi has got it happening after a fairly ordinary Ampol Hunt Leadup, and is sitting in second place. Go you good thing ! That will make the looooong trip home go a bit quicker for him and Lynne
Wild Dogs top score in FTR would have put him into 2nd in Open, so his great form continues. He has got some classey shooters right behind him though, so hopefully he stays off the jungle juice and behaves himself

Tony, wild dog would have to behave real bad
Mind you if his wheels did fall off there would be truck loads of tissues needed

Re: SA QUEENS and HUNT LEADUP
Cam, he is certainly in "the zone" at present. Stuart Braund is the only F Class competitor with more X's than him. Still, he won't want to stumble, with the quality of shooters in FTR right behind him. Hopefully our fellow Queenslanders in Shane and Vicki can really make him work for it

Re: SA QUEENS and HUNT LEADUP
From a JH post on Facebook just now, it seems Stuart Braund has again shot the day without dropping a shot, as part of his awesome run at Lower Light of 9 ranges in a row without dropping a single shot
Apparently the weather is near perfect for this time of year, 24deg C, and Westerly winds at 12-15 kph

That is a great 3 days from Stuey. He must be right in the "zone". No-one in F-Open has gone right through a Queens "clean". What a feat that would be.
