Communication is not a strong point of our sport - losing the ATR will only make it worse. If the magazine folds, the main ones affected will be those without internet access, mostly older TR and F-Std shooters. It'll be up to clubs to keep these shooters informed - maybe each "offline" member can be teamed up with someone who has the internet.

Just a thought for the ATR magazine. Why can't it be put on news stands beside the ssaa magazine. As I said on a different thread (before I realized I had it in the wrong place) with the magazine being in the news agencies, it may even go towards bringing new interests to the sport. I also know that I would have bought extra copies while waiting for the mrs at shopping centers.

$87 for ssaa with a magazine subscription.
$130 odd for qra/nraa and more for the mag....
they would get more subscriptions if we actually got something for our money...

The magazine relies on article contributions from members for its content. As a QRA member, you have to take responsibility for its failings along with the rest of us.

I was just thinking along those lines, Alan.

I reported our Queens (and the ASG while it was viable) from 1997 to 2014, at which time I just ran out of inspiration, but I was just thinking that one or two of the technical threads that pop up here could be polished into an article. Maybe somebody could write a Dorothy Dixer type Q & A article monthly.

thats got nothing to do with what i am saying allan.
but thats not to say...what your saying isnt valid.
maybe more older shooters could pass on what they have gleaned over the decades.
and get it as a regular contribution in the mag....
less corporate lunches would help lower costs aswell.

John,

Do you know any contact details, I just used this address copied from the NRAA website atr_editorial@www.nraa.com.au and got a delivery failure.

I am interested in assisting with articles and advertising with them.

Would people be interested in membership if we had a dedicated f-class writer? I'd be happy to cover articles of interest to people also.

I'd like to see this magazine live on, I think its an important part of our sport.

Never mind, I found the address elsewhere, not a good start if on the ATR page on the NRAA site the ONLY email contact is wrong.....

Link to wrong info page https://www.nraa.com.au/atr-magazine/

I have emailed the NRAA to correct it
