""Surely someone has more info on what is happening in Tasmania? They do have internet there now don't they?""

not sure but they had electricity i am pretty sure (most places, they built alot of dams) And there is always the Bass Strait Carrier Pigeon service connecting them with Australia :)

Thanks Spud. And I'd expect the MR results, including the 1500, will be on the Match Rifle site within a few days.

A quote from Michael yesterday :
"Well the lead up is done. In FO it was the 7mm vs the 6.5x47. The 7mm won the day this time . But the scores in FTR and FO weren't miles apart showing the humble 308 has a little life left yet. Some good scores shot at 900y 59 and 60s in FTR and FO. And as the day went on the wind picked up fishtail from the front never fun.
Thanks Michael H"

Things looked a bit bleak this morning for the start of Day 2
Image

By the time the day was over Bob Pedersen in F Open and Rod Mahon in FTR were both sitting on 470 pts, and both with a 4 point break over the closest rival
Some familiar faces on the dias for FTR

No photos posted anywhere from F Open that i can steal . That makes FTR the newest No1 "Buzz Sport" !

Results for all the Match Rifle events are now available on the Australian Match Rifle site.
Of particular interest is new Match Rifle shooter,Mike Samuels, first place in Match Reserve and eleventh place in Open, just behind old reliable Barry Southern.

Back from Tassy the wind the wind turned up on the last day and made things interesting. Blowing everyone everywhere.
Interesting that FTR and FO range for range were very close almost nothing in it.

Just wondering how the "World 1500 yard Championship" went - did it go at all??? I can't find the results on either the Match Rifle or NRAA sites.

Thanks Chris. Looks like conditions were challenging in the first round, then got worse! I had a look from the 1500yd mound a couple of years ago, and being across a wide gully with few suitable flag positions, its not surprising that scores were low.
