That was fantastic!! Extremely difficult, but what an experience! :)
Great to meet so many genuine solid gold folk, I honestly feel very privileged to be part of this.
What a great sport.

Some personal lessons learned:
Lesson one: Mixing Port, Beer and Cider makes for a awesome hangover.
Lesson two: Dont forget your hearing protection when you are first up to mark and have a hangover from hell. (That was painful!)
Lesson three: On subsequent nights, getting 10hours sleep and only having 1 beer is a poor decision and makes for some terrible shooting.. in my case.

Oh, and apparently there is a shoot coming up at North Arm! Hope to see you there!

Clermont, sounds like an adventure too :)

Cheers,
G.

It'll be good to see you up at north arm Gerard. Especially now that I can put a face to the name, I was camped next to you.

Well said Gerard. Nice to meet you on Friday night!
Unfortunately the lessons you have learned are very easily forgotten. Especially when Col gets out his 9 litres of port/muskat......

Hi Guys,

The results have been on the NRAA site for a couple of weeks now, but have yet to make there way into the grading part of the website.
Im looking for those percentage increments that will *eventually get me out of C grade!! :)

Anyone here have a NRAA web contact that they could gently prompt?

cheers,
Gerard.

I look after NSW scores etc. There is a person or persons in QRA who could look into this.

Without looking how the shoot was setup in the NRAA system, it would seem to me that the "grading" button has not been activated hence the results not flowing automatically into the grading module of the program. Very easily fixed if this was the case.

Give QRA HQ a call.

Cheers

Yep I noticed that as well! Not that matters for us in open anyway!

Unfortunately, it makes a big difference to us in target rifle trying to go up a grade.

As I suspected the appropriate matches have not been nominated for grading....as previously stated contact QRA for this to be activated.

Cheers

Thanks guys, yes will try call QRA in the morning, as grading is pretty important to lowly C graders like me at the bottom of the ladder ;) ha ha..
Im sure others are in the same boat and also want to move upward and free opportunities for new folk coming in.
I know I could elect to enter at a higher grade, but I'm keen to do it by the book. I guess thats why we have grading, an opportunity to challenge yourself and learn with others at the same level.
I have done the math myself and it seems I will only gain 1% increment after Gundi, which is approximately the same increment I received after Queens, so I will accept as many more opportunities as I can find to try improve.

Definitely planning on giving North Arm a go, especially if it may be the last one of the year that is reasonably local (affordable) to me. ..sounds challenging! :)

The book says:

12.8 Competitors Choice of Grade
12.8.1 At any Open Competition, a shooter may elect to enter and compete in any grade above the one allocated to them on the current NRAA Website.

I guess maybe what I have in mind is that I want to feel I have earned the promotion. The Grading system helps formally track those earnings.

Im just of the phone with the NRAA and a kind lady there says that she can have it sorted today. :)
