There's actually 3 clashing on 23rd Keith,
Bathurst, Cootamundra & Gosford. 8-/

Generally the three are on separate weekends but got screwed up due to having the 5 weekends this October.

Bathurst is the same weekend each year and unable to change as the range is shut down for about 6 weeks prior due to the motor racing on Mount Panorama.

Maybe a bit lacking in communications & calendar checking this year, me thinks. 8-)

There was quite a bit of communication at a high level about the triple event on the same day, however each club had a reason for their event being on that particular date. John S

John, I'm not sure what communication there was at "high level" but at club level, the first we knew about it was far too late to do anything, not that we could change anything in any case, due to the restrictions on Mount Panorama.

I don't think it's a big deal, or a failure on anyone's part, just that the calendar worked out different than normal with the 5 weekends.

The dates are generally sorted at the clubs AGMs so I think next year we'll be contacting Coota & Gosford prior to our AGM to double-check our dates.

Just one of those things. 8-)

PS. Anyway... off topic here.
I'm gunna try to make it to Hornsby this year!

this is where the state organizations should step in and overrule the clubs on their proposed dates.
every club wants good weather and the perfect date and it should be up to the governing body to be responsible with maximizing attendances. surely it is good for our sport to have as many people attend as possible, not to be held back because of a bottleneck in the program.
the same unfortunately applies to queens events as well, lets put them all close together, that should work!
regards paul.
