#1 Postby superx10 » Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:32 pm

Hi
Have any FTR shooters tried the Atlas bipod Atlas B35-LW17 5-H Bipod it's their biggest one, I have tried the seb joypod but could not get it to work without having to load it up, so I am hoping to use one . Any report of practical use would be appreciated.

In my somewhat limited experience, you actually should "load up" a bipod, how much comes down to your preferences and what works for your gear.

The big negative with this style of bipod is the lack of easy adjustability once setup.
I’m curious how you are going to adjust your elevation with one of these halfway through a shoot without compromising your position.

Hi
Good question on how to adjust. I am thinking to use a Phill Mastin Physcadelic FTR stock with an adjustable bag rider or get one from the US of a Ruger precision.
Anu suggestions greatly appreciated.

B&T Industries have come out with a new bipod called the Super C.A.L. (For Cant And Lock). It has a footprint close To or equal to the 5H but unlike the 5H only cants- it has no pan function. I have one of the Super CAL’s for a PSR rifle but haven’t used it yet. I do feel that the simpler nature of the Super CAL over the 5H May be beneficial to F type shooting. I’m not sure that either model is the ducks guts for FTR but have a sneaking suspicion that the Super CAL would be a wiser choice.

I ordered direct from B&T in the States- shipping is a killer. I believe Delta Tactical in Melbourne have them and maybe Huntsman up in Townsville. There are a few other local distributors so check on B&T’s web page.
I have an Atlas V8 and now the Super CAL and the footprint difference between the two is quite remarkable. The Super CAL is also cheaper than the 5H.
