Dear Brains Trust,
I am in the process of building an F-Class rifle in 6.5 CM and need some assistance wrt load data. I will be using AR2208, pushing a 140gr HPBT projectile all housed in a Winchester Case.
Based on the ADI Load Data the max load is 35.8gr with an expected MV of around 2600fps. Today I threw a 35gr charge, placed it in the case and it looked a little light on. I say this because I am comparing this to a full charge of 46gr of AR2208 for my TR rifle pushing a 155gr projectile.
Is 35gr of AR2208 about right?
Regards,
Swampy.

Re: 6.5 Creedmor Load Data
I’m maxed out at 41 of 2209 for 2754 with 140 rdf and 147 eldm, I haven’t tried 2208, but that’s not far from the book, don’t think I’d be starting that close to max if it was me, I don’t run 41 that was max and brought it back to 40 @ 2700, 26” barrel, Regards Rich

Re: 6.5 Creedmor Load Data
I thought the creedmore would have a fair bit more capacity than the 6.5x47?
I was running 41.5 of 09 with a 130 in the 47

Hi Swampy,
If you're using Peterson brass, I found that I had to drop back on the charge. The internal case capacity is smaller than Norma and Hornady, which they try to make people aware of.
For norma brass, I was using 42.2grs and could have pushed that further without any pressure signs.
With Peterson at 42grs I'm getting plenty of signs of pressure. Though at 40.2grs it works brilliantly.
Note: Im using RL16 power - @ 42grs i was pushing 3000fps and currently at 40.2grs im running at 2830fps.

Re: 6.5 Creedmor Load Data
2208/Varget is a little fast for a 260 Remington. It'll work but it's fast.
I've never tried it in 6.5CM but I feel the same way....it's a bit fast for the Creedmoor.
2209/H4350 is my go to powder for the 6.5CM. I'm loading 42.0 with a 135gr ATIP and they are coming out at a honest 2800fps from a 23" barrel.
41.5gr of H4350 and a 150gr bullet and I'm getting an honest 2700fps. Same barrel at 23". Twist is 1-6.75 and 5R rifling. Hornady brass. CCI BR2 primers.
Hope all is well with everyone down under!
Hope the virus thing stays away from everyone!

Re: 6.5 Creedmor Load Data
Yeah, I can get single ragged hole groups using 2208 pushing 120gr pills but 2209 was always better pushing 140gr pills.
I tried to work the load up like others but get signs over 41 so have to stay just under.
I did start noticing the Peterson brass was not getting as good SD or groups and best was Lap with SR mag primers.

41.4gr out of a 24-25" barrel, not sure what I had it cut down to.
