Farley Rest Question

#1 Postby AlanA » Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:11 pm

I have just acquired a Farley rest in great condition except that the white silicon ‘fitting’ where the joystick handle attaches to the control shaft is torn. This seems to be a common problem with Farley. The part number is Anver B2.5-42.

Can anyone suggest an alternative fitting available in Australia. I found some on EBay but located in USA and they will not ship international.

Thanks
Alan

Are you referring to the boot that stops dust from entering ?
If so most people remove them or remove the screws to prevent extra tension on the extremes of adjustment.

I still have that part on mine and still have to regularly service the rest as it gets full of crap and becomes clunky .

That’s with shooting 500m fly and the rest never touching the dirt and stored in a sealed protective case

Yes, the boot that keeps out the rain and dust. The thing is actually described as a ‘bellows suction cup’. I’ve taped up the tear with limited success. Just trying to find a more permanent fix.

Thanks your reply.

I’ll have a look for mine
I removed it years ago and no issues ( with the rest that is, I’m another story)

Thanks anyway Tim. Exactly same as mine. Seems a common problem.
