Barnard bolt release

#1 Postby PeteFox » Wed May 25, 2022 3:52 pm

Has anyone devised a spring loaded bolt release pin for the Barnard P.
The twist to release idea is brilliant simplicity but it restricts scope positioning.

I can't be the only one wanting this.

Pete I made one out of a 60mm long piece of 12mm aluminium rod. Small flat on the outside and a flat with a channel on the action side to locate over the curve of the action.
Two screws to match the threads on the Barnard and a stainless bolt machined down to make the pin. A spring out of a pen cut in half and a little piece of the alloy rod made into a button for the end and it works great.

Bit of messing around for me as I am not a machinist or fitter.
