Bullet Pointing for F Standard

#1 Postby saum2 » Sun Jul 10, 2022 8:47 am

Just wondering if any F Standard shooters using Berger 155.5's or Sierra 155 Point their bullets? Just for the longs or for everything?

When I shoot FS I do Bullet tip and have seen a slightly better performance at 1000.
I also meplat trip and measure bearing surface so that might attribute to the improvement too.

FS is starting to go up like FO where at major events it seems to be won with X's so every but helps.

That's just what I do others may not and still have great success.

I sort by overall length in .003” lots then point those and re zero the die for each lot. 900 & 1000 yards is where you might pick up an extra point for your effort. I sort and point the lot to keep it simple it’s really not that hard to do. Like Pete said the X count is important sometimes and Pointing certainly helps!
