Electronic ear plugs, what are people using and what are the pros and cons?

I will say that electronic ear muffs are half of what you need to protect your hearing. Electronic muffs plus yellow foam ear plugs will do the job. But electronic ear plugs I have seen but not investigated.

I looked into them a while back and decided no. Simply put they don't offer the protection we need. It's not so much the electronics its just the physical plug isn't effective enough. I got the custom ( plastic injected into the ear) ones. If you only use the foam squishies you really should be using muffs on top when on the mound.
I figure not being able to hear people when I don't really want to anyway is preferable to not being able to hear them at all.
