#1 Postby B.Scheske » Thu Jun 30, 2005 6:47 pm

recently i tried to purchase some at my local gun shop and was told that Federal were no longer making primers.

I realise that they are still available at sara. but for how long?
if the information i was given is true then it would be a good time to find an alternative primer such as CCI benchrest

Brett,

How well do you know your local gun dealer?

Maybe that's his way of saying he hasn't got any, and wants to sell you something else  !

I have seen his price lists (wholesale) and they list federal ammo but not primers

Brett, could be that the importer isnt bringing them in!

If an importer isnt selling an item he will not bring it in, could be that winchester and CCI are the main ones sold in OZ.

As Federal make both Hunting and Match ammo with their own componats i find it hard to belive they have stopped making primers.

Remember the Millet scope issue with the Oz importer???

federal primers

#12 Postby Shane » Mon Jul 04, 2005 9:22 am

Federal are still making primers and wesfire are still importing them. they are without doubt the best primer available todate and federal sell huge amounts so i doubt they will drop them(fingers crossed). cci are the best alternative. I know wesfire have just landed another container of primers so for those of us who stock them there are plenty available.
good shooting
