Left hand stock/chassis query for Barnard P LH

#1 Postby ReneZ » Tue Jan 12, 2021 8:27 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to find out what options I have for a stock/chassis for a Barnard P left hand action (308). I noticed the few found seemed very expensive so I'm wondering what else is available, particularly as I'll need a long LOP. I would use it for F-standard.

I'm looking for something fairly basic, like the wilddog stock shown in the Q-store but would also be happy with another type for the time being (those GRS Kelbly X Eater ones look nice too).

Open to suggestions, thanks!

I've got a basic Ken Noye done in left hand with a Barnard P for F-Open. They don't break the bank although his latest design has a lower centre of gravity which is a good thing.

I have a Dolphin chassis style stock I use for F/TR and am quite happy with it.

Thanks all!

@ Willow - that's a very nice stock. Any contact details for Ken Noye?

@ Tachyon - is yours a left-hand version? Are you aware they come in a LH?

The quest continues :-)

Around the $1400 mark...quite reasonable for a decent F-Open stock.

Ken isn't on social media to the best of my knowledge, nor does he have a website. Matt Paroz on here has contact details for Ken and gets a few stocks through him.

Cameron Hatcher at hatchers stocks does ambidextrous stocks. I don't know much about them in quality etc but maybe worth a look

Similar to Willows nice looking stock I had a McMillan/Tooley MBR on my LH P. Sorry I don't have a picture saved on this computer to post for you to look at.

My magnum length action Barnard has a Manners F Class stock. That I have a picture of.

Dear all, many thanks for your reactions here, through messages or at the range, much appreciated. I had a difficulty deciding if it had to be a chassis or a wooden stock. Meantime my quest has ended and I hope to receive the stock soonest.
Again thanks, some good information and discussion was shared and I learned again!
Cheers, Rene
