Agree Ian. Go the 7's

F Class is about shooting for score over multiple ranges, not shooting small groups often not centered on the target.

There was a shoot at Corryong in 2009, 4 x 15 shots, and 2 x 20 shots at 1000 yds over 2 days. People stayed away in droves.

Agree the 7mms are what all the good shooters are using.

But put those good shooters behind any accurate rifle and an average shooter behind a 7mm and all of the sudden which cal starts winning?

That's because there were no 1100s or 1200s on the programme!

Norm, Scott,

See the bottom of this page (May 5th and 6th 2013) : http://www.matchrifle.org/Calendar/calendar.htm . I believe the reason they say a "possible" second 1500 yard day is that conditions have to be favourable at this distance or it could become a bit farcical - i.e. relatively slight wind changes can blow you right off the target.

I heard there is a 1 mile mound planned.

I don't know whether it's a plan or a pipe-dream.

Quote " and when shooting USA, it is all about shooting long range..."

Linda not quite true. When you come over in Sept we will break you in slowly with 8 days at 300, 500, 600, 900 and a wee bit at 1,000 during the SoA (US Fullbore Championships) so you can get zeros for when the FUN begins. There is an old USA saying, "the longest 100 yards in the world is between 900 and 1k".

See you soon,
