F Open did not compete today.

Bitterly cold, and blowing wind gusts up to 50 kmph. The 210's were being thrown from one side of the 8 ring to the other at 300 yards. But we had fun!!!

Well done F T/R team!

Very well done to Rod Shehan, (wind coach) in dealing with the trajectories and wind drift of no less than three different projectiles being used by team members. Difficult wind conditions and 155gr, 185gr and 210gr projectiles being shot down range. Even with a miss (crossfire) on one target coached the team to third place, really top effort!!!!!!

Looks like shooter and coaches are wired up ? , we will learn more later ? maybe shooters are told what to wind ? , interesting , but thats why they are there , well done I say, Chop.

The Angel Fire 4-man team took place today, and concluded the 4-man team champtionship. With rain looming, the decision was made to shoot the course backwards so we could at least get the long range strings in before a possible cancellatio...n. Although rain threatened all day, it never interfered with the match. The wind really picked up after lunch, until we finished at 300 yards with about 20 mph winds and spitting rain from 12 O'clock. The buffeting was so bad that many of the sling shooters who normally clean the target shot numerous 8's, 7's, and 6's; just couldn't hold the rifle still.

After the shooting there was a shooter's swap meet in the Eagles Nest clubhouse where people sold and traded various shooting gear.

When the smoke cleared, in F-open, standings were the same as the first team match: USA-1, USA-2, and Spindle Shooters in third.

In F-TR, Team Sinclair continues their undefeated record, winning the team match and the 4-man team match. As with the first team match, South Africa and Australia were 2nd and 3rd for todays match as well.

Bill Litz got picked up by the Canadian Gold team and shot very well. His 385-10x score was tied for 3rd highest of the day! That Pierce Engineering rifle is shooting extremely well and Bill was happy to be picked up for a team after not shooting the first team day.

In the Sling class, Bryan's team USA Gray was first place but will be 2nd in the championship to the Scottish Exiles by 1 point. Extra appreciation goes out to team members who shot on that last abusive relay at 300 yards; it was brutal!

Tomorrow is the third of 4 individual days. Weather is supposed to get colder and winds strengthening. We'll see how the various conditions shake up the standings!

They had another individual day today and conditions were once again very very tricky in some relays.
Daryl Barlow was leading F/TR after the 3 short ranges, but dropped back a bit during a particularly rough patch at 900yds.
Jenni Hausler got caught in some rough conditions at the short ranges, but got one of the highest scores at the 900yds, taking a long time to pick her way through the slop, beating most F Open shooters.
Mark Fairburn was up with the leaders in F Open until the start of the 900yd range when a markers mistake caused some confusion, which cost him a bundle of points.
Phil Barlow came in 5th for the day in some particularly rough conditions. Rod Shehan shot 155gn projectiles at 900yds in some bad patches and beat a lot of F Open shooters while doing so as did Linda in some conditions which were giving misses to some F Open shooters.
Tomorrow is the 8 man teams match.

I just saw that on facebook. Looks like they are having great fun again!!

If I was a better shooter and had a better rifle, I'd save my butt off to goto one of these shoots
