Nice going in the leadup Mike, not only winning F-Open, but getting a higher agg than Bob Ped ! He's always very tough on his old stamping ground.

Maybe the numbers are not great,but the competition is.Seems to me you cant beat experience,lookig at Bruce Johnston FS/B 234 coming ahead of John Collis F/SA 231-11. If you have never been to a Tassie Queens, try and do it,very enjoyable,most of the entries are repeat competitors.

I'm proud to have contributed to a record of sorts at that Campbell Town range during the Australian match rifle championships in 2003. It was at 1100 yards & a friend kindly dropped a bird on my target when a little pick up came through from Queenstown. All five of us shooting at the time paused, calculated & paused again, then fired something approaching a ragged volley. All 5 targets dropped & stayed down a while, then returned, to be accompanied by a red flag waved in front of each in turn.

We'd all missed assessing the change by at least 4 minutes, but no more than 7. Oh, the shame of it!

It's been a great few days shooting, with some great shoots being recorded in both Std and Open.

Unfortunately only the 3 Victorian's have made up the numbers in Open, however that has made for some great camaraderie on range.

In fine style the Open boys are keeping ahead of the Std guys and girls, even now that they have the Bergers in their arsenal.

The hospitality of the Tasmanian people has been great, and tonight's meal was one to be remembered. I went back for seconds on the Desert!

I hope to be back next year, to have another go as it certainly rates up there in regard to enjoyable shooting.

It appears that F-Open is not supported in Tassie?

Well done to those that made the effort to get down there and have a go. Sounds like a geat event and I may have to try and get there next year if they put the dates up early enough for me to get leave.

Tassie is all over and done.
Congratulations to Rod Mahon ( South Bendigo ) on a very decisive win in the Queens -- 10 points from Mike Waite and Gary Hunt ( same points score ) --also a 6 point Grand Agg win.
Quantity was absent but quality was not. Well done Rod, Mike and Gary.

The 6mm got a huge work out and it didn't dissappoint!

I'd attribute the huge center count to the accuracy of the 6mm.

The 7mm I basically used at 900 and 1000, which did well during the leadup and 1000 yard shoot on day two!

Rod had a great run, and kept it together to the end. I'll have to go back next year to try and give him a run again

Overall an enjoyable week off work!

Gary performed very well too. If it wasn't for him being such a generous guy, he would have been 6 POINTS better off
