The ATR magazine has on the front cover," The Official Magazine of the National Rifle Association of Australia".
On page one it states,
"To promote and develop the sport of target shooting in Australia".
On page two it has Publisher:
The Australian Target Rifle is published bi-monthly by the National Rifle Association of Australia Limited.
Also;
If you wish to submit contributions/articles etc. it asks that they be emailed to
atr_editorial@nraa.com.au
As I have not yet received the latest copy of ATR I can only assume that this information, taken from my last copy, is still relevant .
If the ATR is to go on promoting our sport then it needs to really get more proactive and seek out as much information as possible to publish.
I have been receiving the ATR for too many years to recall, but, one thing that I do know is that many members no longer subscribe because they no longer see any value in it.
It would be interesting to know just what the current circulation figures are,
and, whether they are rising or falling.
Since ATR #55 free advertising for clubs and associations ceased, so, in order to advertise an OPM
the clubs/associations pay to promote target shooting.
I recognize the fact that the NRAA may be shorthanded, but, it is the 'voice' of Australian Target Shooters and, the states are only members of the NRAA.
As the self acknowledged promoter of our sport the ATR needs to lift its game to the standard that is required to attract new shooters, something that is just not happening.

Accolades to the many clubs, club members, and club websites, in particular ozfclass website, who do promote our sport, seeking and encouraging new members to embark on a lifelong journey that is challenging, intellectually stimulating and will keep you interested until you literally 'drop off your perch'.
