Monto OPM Results 12&13 July 2014

Post by Amac »

Hi All

Thought I would try to get some info up about a great Prize Meeting held in Monto over the weekend.

Conditions varied from placid on Saturday morning to quite evil by Sunday lunch. Monto shooters were continually telling tales of switching winds rocketing up the narrow range and bouncing off trees - after what could be described as quite good shooting conditions earlier on we were treated to the best of it by the end.

Ranges were

Saturday 300 y, 500 y (15 shots) and 500 y (15 shots)
Sunday 600 y (15 shots) and 600 yards (15 shots)

Total Possible 420 for the weekend.

There was a good field of F Class shooters, although F Open only had the 3 competitors. Standard grades were about same numbers - 10 in each grade.

Below is a couple of pictures from the shoot, including results. Apologies for the photo quality.

It was bitterly cool in the mornings - even the dogs needed a jacket....however, the hospitality was superb. It was a great shoot and from those that attended something to look forward to in the future.

Congrats to the following

F Open - Scott Mitchell 411.36
Emile Daniels 402.14
Noel Porter 396.21
F Std A - Beth Caskey 410.19
Nick Williamson 409.24
Brian Ahern 408.33
F Std B - Andrew McKillop 401.23
Marg Kerlin 389.17
Foxy Foulkes 387.14

All the best

Andrew

PS - will get photos up as soon as I can work out how to do it!

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.
