Thanks for sharing that with us Marty.

Deepest sympathy to Julie and family at this most difficult of times.

So very sad.

Yes thanks Marty - well said. It made me reflect on how similar my first encounter with Cam was. Only mine was at the Mackay Queens and he went on to win :D . I am guessing (actually certain) that most people had similar encounters with Cam as that was the mark of the man. He gave to all and loved seeing new people get into the sport and excel.

One of the best things about attending a queens for me was to catch up with Julie and Cam - Two of the nicest people I have ever had the good fortune of meeting.

Without doubt the single most memorable moment in my shooting career was sharing the win at the last FCWC in Raton with the team. Cam was the ultimate team shooter and did not leave anything behind for his team mates. I shed a little tear of joy with Cam and Julie on that day (and more than a few of sadness over the last few). That memory will live with me till the day I too pass.

Julie needs the support of family and friends right now to get through this. Our best thoughts are with you Julie. They are coming in from around the country ( and world) from those the two of you have touched.

The past few days have been a little emotional for me ! I talked to Julie last night and she is in good spirits with her family around her ! She really appreciating all of the tributes and love that have been posted , so keep it coming !

Julie will announce when the funeral is going to happen, she has some tentative dates but not sure just yet . Hence why no mention yet ! But will be soon ! We had a few tears together, but Julie was better than me .

I had the privilege of knowing Cam for about 3 yrs and learnt lots just being around him competing . His demeanour when competing and how cool he was under pressure was what I learnt the most ( well try to). He would never release that shot until he knew exactly where it was going !

I saw at club level how hard he had worked to get into the Australian team and then eventually win as a team in Raton. After he came back he was taking a well earned slow down in the sport . And even then he was still kicking our backsides and not overly even trying ! His last comprehensive win was at Ipswich OPM where Cam didn't drop one shot! The last time I saw him was at our club shoot at 900 yds with Julie . I remember his smile and shake of my hand !
Our little club is in bit if a tail spin at the moment and the 3 musketeers have retired until further notice!
I was pretty sad last night and even posted that I may take a break from the sport! I know Cam wouldn't want this at all and would want me to do well and continue ! So I as I write this with a few more tears I'll be back still an anouying you guys with shooting ( and model aeroplanes too). I also hope Julie can make it back too to be at least 2 musketeers !

Love and regards Graham Sells.

Sad news, while I'd never met Cam in person we'd done a bit of buying and selling from each each other. Always a pleasure to deal with. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.

Deepest sympathies to Julie and family from Marg and myself. We were very sad to hear that Cam is no longer with us and like so many others will miss his smiling face.

RIP Cam

I haven't been on here much lately or done much F class shooting for that matter, but the last person I sent PMs to was Cam. Thanks for the help.

I cannot believe it!

Less than 30 minutes ago I was looking at their smiling faces in the ATR (pp60,61)- winners again! Only two months ago.

It will take me time to come to terms with this tragedy.

Julie, how much more will you need?

I am so sorry for Cam and you; and for me; and for all who have known and admired you both.

John Tracey.

Hi All,
There's not much more that could be added to the wonderful tributes given so far.
But for me I have had the good fortune to meet Cam and Julie at various shoots over the last couple of years and have been made all the richer for it.
While I didn't know Cam well there was an instant connection in the shared passion for open shooting.
He took the time to call me a couple of months ago and share his thoughts and experiences in the last world championships as a team shooter.
Our world will be a smaller place without him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Julie.

My deepest sympathies go out to Julie and the family. Cam was a source of inspiration and friendship for me as a young shooter out of his depth a long way from home. Will be greatly missed.

I have been quiet - because I could not think of anything adequate to say.
First met Cam and Julie when they visited family in Mackay and worked the Mackay Queens Shoot into their schedule.
Always looked forward to contact every year at the NQRA Queens when it was held in Mackay.
Been a privilege knowing Cam. Deepest sympathy to Julie.
Still cannot think of anything really adequate to say !

Exactly as I felt Peter. I knew Cam pretty much from when he started out in F Open, I always found him to be exactly as everyone has said. He was an absolute gentleman. We are diminished!!!
