Hi guys,
Playing around with a new Sako 223 Rem Varmint rifle. I have never owned a 223 before, so just wanting to see what members opinions are on the best varmint load and target load.
I was planning to use either 2206H or 2208 and 55Nosler Ballistic Tips for varminting and 70gn Berger Target Bullets.
What are people's favourite 223 loads for these applications ?

I shoot a tikka T3 varmint, which is the same barrel as the sako's
Mine shoots 77gr nosler CC over 23.4 gr /2208 Br4 primers
Has shot a best of 1. Inch in a 300m mozzie comp.
These seem to be the best so far, in trying 75mm AMax's over 2206/br4
Looking ok so far

Re: Favourite 223 Rem Loads
My spotlighting rifle is a rem 700 bdl in 223 have had excellent results with 55grain vmaxs and 25.9gr of 2206h, runs about 3300fps and defiantly works on roos
Re: Favourite 223 Rem Loads
Well did dome testing last Saturday with the new Sako Varmint 223 Sporter - I really liked 25.0gn 2206H with 55gn Nosler Balistic Tips. As I was running in the barrel I shot on our electronic targets and was pretty impressed with this load.
I wasn't watching for wind and put 3 just outside the 6 ring and one high (it was a bit blowy). Had I actually been shooting for score and watching the wind I would have scored a 59.6, so I was pretty impressed given I was shooting at 400m with 55gn projectiles off an unbalanced rest with a 10X Scope and factory set trigger. Also I was shooting virgin Lapua cases, so the neck tension varied quite a lot from case to case.
I recon once I lighten the trigger a little, use fire formed the brass and use a proper front rest, this little Sako is going to shoot great with 55gn BTs and 2206H. Probably not the best target load over 400m, but I think she'll be a great fox/rabbit gun!
Thanks to everyone for your input !
Cheers
