As Williada has noted above, running higher velocity at the cost of brass isnt a bad idea for prize shoots/queens. We are all aware barrels are consumables and thus brass should be treated so as well. However if your after a good short range and calm condition bullet, the 175 sierra and 168 berger are very good. Also the 162 hornady amax has a very good BC for its weight if your gun can shoot them. Using the 162-168 class bullets Im sure you can run them 2900-2950fps without the brass issues that the 180's show. If you compare the ballistics with 180's at 2820 you will see there is probably not enough in them to be able to read the difference in condition at 1000yds. In turbulent and head wind conditions its where you will see advantage from the heavier bullets.
