What did your FF 30-06 cases end up measuring when formed . I had a box of Lapua arrive today and the few pieces I plucked measure 2.484-2.485 OAL in parent form . I image should see 2.480 or shorter once formed . Got any numbers ?

Hi Mate , I’ll measure when I get home and have a look .
Regards Graham.

For the .280AI gurus here, what size bushing are you using for neck sizing?

I’m not the 280 guru.... but generally 2-3 thou under loaded round works well . So .310 loaded .308-.307 bushing . Bushings seem to vary some by manufacturers so usually requires a little experimenting . We are still covered in snow here , but Melt is coming fast , so hope to start load development on mine in 2-3 weeks

Hi Mine is a tight neck at .307 . I neck turn also at about .304 , press a projectile in and go a thou or 2 lower than that . Can’t remember exactly what that size is ?

As for the 280 ai .... I’ve sent my scope off to be looked at and have been staring from scratch . My whole shooting technique!! So was the cal Guilty?? No most definitely not ! So once as I’ve said previously. I get my MOA scope back and the .284 w is back shooting well again ( well it’s shooting well , just the nut behind the butt needed some work lol) . I’ll jump back in with its development, but at a slower speed and should have brilliant barrel life !

So therefore, 280 ai is not guilty at this stage !!

Well , finally, some good news for 280 ai faithful! I had a good training session with the 280 ai today in blustery mirage conditions today at 1010 yds! Seems after I sent my scope away and reinstalled it , the 280 shoots and my form is back on the mend !
Below is just some 100 m testing and mag speed data and et screen shots 1000 yds . I’ve backed off to around 2950-60 FPS with 180 Berger and vld’s shooting equally as well as each other. I’ll shoot the Ackley at Mucka with the slow load out to 800 yds and use the fast load 900 yds onwards!

Believe me , feels great to be getting back in the muddle again!
