Okey doke people, get your sneakers on.
The Regulatory Impact Statement to remake the Firearm Regulations (which have to be remade every 10 years) will be advertised tomorrow.
The RIS shows decreases in the cost of individual long arm licences, a doubling of handgun licences, a 'greater than 100%' increase for junior licences, an increase of over 600% for dealers licences and permits to acquire for longarms to go from $9 to $30.50.
You can see the summary table at:
http://www.justice.vic.gov.au/wps/wcm/c ... ummary.pdf
Can someone going to Wodonga pls copy the table on pg 3 and distribute it at the show?
If you are in Melbourne tomorrow, then rather than bitch and carry on about the bloody government, why don't you come to my political meeting where that energy can be put to good use?
If there are any late starters, call me on 0425 746 066

Neil

Yet another OOOOPs
From the DOJ website
Proposed Firearms Regulations 2008 - Regulatory Impact Statement
The Department has identified a technical error in the Proposed Firearms Regulations 2008, as advertised on 9 February 2008. The error is only in respect of the fee amounts shown for licenses in the draft Regulations, which have been articulated as the full license fee amount rather than the single year fee unit amount.
These documents have therefore been removed from the website. Once this error has been rectified the regulations will be re-advertised and the amended documents will be re-advertised and available on this site. This is expected to occur within the week and the full 28 day consultation period will apply.
The Department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
