Need some help with brand/gns projectiles & best projectile seating position using 2213sc powder for the 6.5x47. Load?? off the shelf Savage complete rifle set up for Fclass.

6.5 x 47 loads

Play safe and work upto any suggested load! I use 38.0gr of 2208 with 139gr Scenars, (2900+fps) jammed 10 thou. I use 2213sc in my 284Shehane and I think its too slow for the little 6.5x47L case. All chambers are different and mine is throated for the 140gr projectiles.
Have fun working up a load and you should find the calibre is an accurate one. Dont forget to use CCI BR or 450 Mag primers as they have thick cups and work better with the Lapua cases. If you load too hot you will get head expansion and loose primers so back off if you see pressure signs.
Lapua designed the 6.5x47L cartridge specifically for 300 metre European centrefire competition. Its a good rifle out to mid range but when the wind blows the 7mm calibres are a much better choice. An example would be a 140gr 6.5mm projectile up against a 7mm 180gr projectile, the smaller cal gives away about 15" more drift at 1000 yards. Thats using a figure of 2900fps for both the 6.5x47L and the lets say 284W, realistic velocities for both calibres.
Bruce Moulds thinks the 6.5x47L is the perfect FO team shooting calibre so maybe he can help with some info about this calibre for you as well.

I forgot to mention another powder you may want to consider and that is RL17. Erik Cortina in the USA holds the 300 yard FO record using this powder with the 139gr Scenars.
I found 41.5gr of this powder in my chamber with the Scenars gave 3000fps and 42.0gr gave 3030fps all without any pressure signs. This powder produces unbelievable velocity with the little 6.5x47L case but I could never achieve the same accuracy as using the 2208 powder at 2900fps. If you want 6.5x284 performance then RL17 does the job. Be warned though its a double based powder and more heat sensitive than 2208 so in hot weather the velocity will creep up a bit. Using the 42.0gr load gave me a little safety margin but I never loaded it to its max (pressure signs) so not sure just how high it would go!

RE 17 seems to be getting really good velocities and low pressure from most things its in from what Ive read on the interweb. I may have a look at that for my 308 as well as whatever F-Open I build.
If you can get 3000fps with a 6.5x47 lapua, wonder what guys would get with a 6.5-284, 6.5 Super LR, etc.

41.5gr of 2209 with 130gr bergers and a .010" jam. that is a warm load in my rifle so start around 40 and work up in .3gr and see how you go
ive tryed the 139 lapuas with 2208 and also some 142 SMK's because the bergers were in short supply they shot pritty well when i was running a HOT load so eventually i went back to the bergers. i re did all my load testing with the 130gr bergers with a new batch of powder and primers and keep coming back to the exact same load.
the heavyer 140gr pills look good on paper but, in my opinion only, i think the case has marginal capacity for that class of bullet. yes re17 can push the 140s at a good compeditive velocity but some say that its temp sensetive and is hard to get ES and SD down.
i think everyone that owns a 6.5x47 will agree that they are a pleasure to load and shoot so have fun
