I have ordered a throating reamer to deepen the throat on a 6mmBR chamber.
Anyone done this themself? I see that they can come with a T handle to hand cut the throat.
Has anyone had a go at doing this sort of thing themself?
I can vouch for the fact they cut very quickly if your not careful. I wish I learned from the 1st time I tried it. Now I will use a series of 1/4" washers over the throater to act as stops to limit how far I can put the reamer in.
Yes, Matt, I had a moment there. I saw in a Gunsmithing article about lubricating the throat before machining and they had a bottle of red liquid. I didn't realize it was red Machining fluid and thought it was my usual throat lubricant, a Cab Sav.
