Seeing things have been a bit quiet on the forum, I thought I see if anyone in F open is interested in trying something different. Cartridge takes a 7.92 projectile but could be necked down to 308. Should be good for about 4000 fps plus.

I could see the WA police having a field day licensing that one.
There was a 30-338 lapua mag on our firing line on sunday. That looked unpleasant enough for 10 shots plus sighters.

Well I just might eat my words....I think in this case Bigger is not quite Better???
At 7.92 mm you're ensuring that if the marker forgets to gauge out to 8mm, then you should do alright.
As for the size of the pill, and the amount of recoil, I don't think I'd like to be behind that beast. Let alone lying beside it on the shooting mound

Can you run it on gas?
Running on unleaded would cost a fortune. Like running a V12 twin turbo, you'd probably get 5 mpg.
I gather Vihtavuori is out of the question? You probably pour it in by the bucket.
What is the case capacity on this beast?

I reckon that finely ground anthracite severely sifted or hardwood sawdust would have about the right burning rate.

I should have mentioned that the little one on the right is a standard. 308, but I reckon most of you would know that.

the round is a 7.92 Panzerbuche, dating from the early 1940s, developed as a german anti-tank round. Barrel length was 42.75 inches. I believe the barrels worn out pretty quick for some reason

In other words it's an 8mm Pansie?
If you wore out the barrel shooting tanks you'd be doing fairly well!
What was the MV?

Good one Casey, I must admit I would feel a bit out gunned shooting at a tank with it. Muzzle velocity was about 4150 fps.
