armpit hair

Post by bruce moulds »

as i have got older, along with an increase in nasal and ear hair, my underarm hair is also becoming a problem.
when i get down on the mound ready to shoot, excess underarm hair that has become tangled starts to pull, sometimes quite painfully.
this can detract from the focus levels required to shoot good scores.
how do other old guys deal with this problem? either shaving or vaseline come to mind, as does bullet lube.
only thing i have against shaving is that it does not go with blue singlets, and you cannot technically enter a mancave with shaven armpits.
technical advice sought,
keep safe,
bruce.

How about a good moustache wax? Grow your mo out and wax it at the same time & you could present as a Leunig refugee.

Surely a minor trim and some talcum powder would do the trick. Everyone wins and man cave avoidance is therefore redundant as blue singlets can still be worn with confidence.

Bruce, its times like these you obviously need to adopt the Ian Thorpe approach and embrace a lycra bodysuit.

Bruce I recommend Imperial Sizing Die Wax as not only will it lubricate your armpit and prevent the dreaded armpit hair pull but since you only wash once a week you can slip your brass cases under your armpit to lubricate them for sizing in the man cave. Its essential to wear the blue singlet to perform this task so I would say its a perfect solution for you!

There are other benefits with using the wax as when you make your hamburger mix and shape the patties under your arm. The wax ensures none of the mince gets caught in the armpit hair by allowing it to slide free.

As an added bonus I have seen you make fart noises on the mound to put other shooters off their game. I notice you placing your hand under your armpit and closing your arm quickly. I believe the Imperial Sizing Die Wax will increase the loudness by a factor of 3 times. Now with the wax under your armpit you are truly equipped for multi-tasking!

Bruce,
I recommend you let it grow and fly free. What better wind indicator than armpit hair flapping away in the breeze - who needs grass, trees and flags!! :D

dave,
firstly congrats on your recent achievement.
your ability to think out of the square could be my solution.
as a wind indicator long armpit hair would not only be a visual guide but also have some feel when you are close to breaking the shot and cannot look at the flags.
turn a negative into a positive.
while ian's suggestion of imperial die wax might preclude this option,
something like a light coat of hornady one shot could do the trick, and it has the bonus of being spray on.
i like this direction, as it in no way affects the wearing of blue singlets.
keep safe,
bruce.

Bruce,

In todays day and age its perfectly acceptable to shave or wax your armpits. You may even get it as a free service if you go the full "back, crack and sack". Let me know if you need the number of my guy
If your a good looking bloke, you might even get a free moisturiser rub down and/or spray tan. Wear you G-string just incase.

Careful though you may end up being followed around by a hord of young groupies thanks to your new Metrosexual style that you'll be oozing.

I won't pretend to know your age Bruce, but I thought arm pit hair would be the last thing that old blokes need to worry about tangling up on the mound!!!

denis,
as old as i am, one of my nicknames is "the magnet".
i have been putting it down to armpit and nasal hair and blue singlet masculine magnetism's effect on females.
can't shave armpits and enter a mancave. it's like trying to bring together 2 like poles of a magnet.

Will arm pit wigs validate entry to the man cave and allow classic Aussie representation of the blue wife-beata?

Bruce,

Can I suggest a way of turning your long armpit hair into an asset rather than a liability. At your age you may be struggling to keep the ole strides up. Get your armpit hair plaited, and if it reaches down to your belt, hey presto, braces! You'd have to do some market research to be sure, but I reckon that would drive the girls even more wild than they are now.
