Busselton Rifle Club F Class Prize Shoot
We are looking at holding a dedicated 2 day F class prize shoot next year as part of supporting the nations fastest growing fullbore disciplines. Its time this sort of thing happened and by golly we are going to give it a go!
So if your a WA shooter, or even an interstater looking for a holiday that you want an excuse to bring your rifle along, then please consider supporting us in taking this big step forward.
Further details to be provided as soon as we can get some stuff confirmed. But its looking like the 10th and 11th of May at this stage!

Long time over due looking forward to have this shoot up an running. I'm thinking 2 div in f-std an 1 div in f-open, first day 10 shots at 300,400 an 15 shots at 500,600. Day two 15 shot at 700,800,900 then at the end a 4 man/woman team shoot or 2 person teams at 900m. What do you all think of this formate

I would like to see 300m, 400m and 500m x 10 shots each on the saturday starting at a later time eg 10:30am to allow those who live further away to travel. We used this format in fishing tournaments a couple of times and it really helped boost numbers of those who couldnt get away on a friday night.
Then 700, 800 and 900m on the sunday x 15 shots each with the teams match 4x 15 shots at the end after lunch. Leave the teams open to any group of people, not just clubs or districts. You could go so far as asking for 3xFS shooters and 1x FO shooter to make a team.
FS A+B, FO and F/TR 1 division each with a minimum of 5 to have prizes and badges allocated sounds fair. We need to be willing to accommodate any shooter we can possibly get, even if one division has only 2 shooters I say run it, but try to get minimum of 5 for prizes and badges.

The main trouble is that an official state title would be expected by WARA to be held at the official state range ie Swanbourne. And that wont happen as I wouldnt think they would see any benefit or need to have a state f class championships in the first place. We are just looking at having a prize shoot as the opportunity is there now for someone to do it in WA. We have the sponsors to provide some decent prizes, people to run it, a good range, fairly close to perth, great facilities for wives and families to go and relax in the touristy areas for a weekend and full amenities to cater for camping shooters.
Brad,
The Swanbourne range was handed over to the MDRA many years ago, when I was on Council over there. The WARA hire Swanbourne to run the Queens. The WA Queens has been run at Kalgoorlie in the past, 1997 I seem to remember. There was an "F" class shoot held at your range some years ago. I travelled over from here to shoot it. There was provision made for hunting type rifles, as well as dedicated "F" class gear. FTR should be included, definitely. I would love to be there again.
