To all 6.5x47 users out there, take care of your brass for the next few months. I've just been informed that a long overdue Lapua shipment has landed with no 6.5x47 brass, and next shipments are not due till Feb and April with no guarantees there either.
Pete at Pro-Cal says he has supplies of virtually all other Lapua bullets and brass including the new 6.5 bullets.

260 improved 30 degree shoulder with necked down palma cases is basically a 6.5x47L on steroids running the 140 class bullets at same velocities as the 6.5x47L and 130's. Accuracy over this year has been fantastic.

Hey Brad,
How much powder can/do you run in your case with the 130s or 140s?
Which powder are you using?
I've found that 2209 does it for me in the 6.5x47L. Between 39 and 41 grains.
Of course, we will have the opportunity of comparing accuracy in Tasmainia
Mike.

there is a thread on 6br about forming 6.5 x 47 brass from other cases.
could be a handy bit of knowledge to have up your sleeve if you were between a rock and a hard place.
keep safe,
bruce.

Bruce, I have found that thread. I am going to give it a shot. Just need to find a cheap 308 FL sizer.
Note to self: look through reloading bench for that forster 308 thats missing a stem....

Mike- I wont be running my 260 in tassie, maybe I will take the barrel and some cases and projies but I dont expect to run it unless I get desperate.
Will send you a pm with the load data.
The best I could get 2209 to work in the 47 was 41.2gr with the 130 berger and it still had nothing on 2208.

Quick,
XC brass is very close to the 6.5x47 dimensions. I have made some XC brass from 22-250 brass, very easy to do. then you need to size it up from 6mm to 6.5. or buy the XC brass advertised on used guns and just neck size it. Advertised for $145 a 100.
