Any must shoot matches for FClass?

Post by Fergus Bailey »

Hi all

I realise I can just look at the various rifle association calendars to see what events are scheduled. But as an F Class shooter, are there any events that are considered particularly worth attending?

Also, same question for matches within a days drive from Melbourne? It's even more likely I will try to attend these.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Fergus We like going to all the comps that we can some are better than others but they all have been fun.i like you live in Melbourne and we are lucky as we have a good deal of clubs and comps within a few hours drive.St Arnaud is coming up and it was a blast last year. There is a Shoot coming up at Grantville in support for Autism so a good one to support. And there is a good comp at Karramomus in August and that is a good one as well. All within a Few hours drive. If you are looking for just a Fclass comp l don't think that there is a comp just for Fclass but at the ones that l have been to of late they seem to attract more Fclass than TR most of the time.

Fergus we are having a dedicated f class prize shoot next year, date still to be 100% finalised. I will be approaching WARA to endorse it as a state prize shoot on their calendar but even if they dont want to, we will be running it anyway. Keep a look out over the next 6 months as we will be putting the flier out. The amount of sponsors for it is very encouraging. The plan will be for individual shooting, team shooting and hopefully a bisley style shoot as well.

Perfect spot to pack the family up and head west for a holiday as we are in one of the tourist hotspots of Aus here. The added bonus is you get to incorporate a shoot as part of it.

Good shoots

Hey Fergus,

Have a look at the Warracknabeal shoot. Two days of great shooting, and large numbers in F Class to compete against.

The catering is brilliant, as is the saturday night feast.

Brad, in regard to your F Class event, if you can put it on closer to Eucla in the east of your state, that may help getting the numbers up. Only 21 hours 51 minutes from my home :)

Mike

Theres nothing for the family to do at Eucla... come here- mrs and kids can go relax at a winery or brewery, nice beaches, fancy restraunts and cafes, nice grass mounds in a picturesque range bordered by tall pines. You wont want to leave...

Guys. Thanks for the comments so far.

Just to clarify, I am not expecting that there will be F Class only matches. My thinking was that some matches may be of more to F Class competitors, but that was just a bit of a theory on my part.
