FIRST SHOOT

Post by Roy cobb »

Well I finally have all my gear set up, so as a newbie to F class hopefully I will be shooting f class for the first time this weekend starting at 300 yards as I have never shot a scoped rifle past 200 yards. I believe I have my scope zeroed at 300 Looking forward to it but after any tips/help you may have for a fist timer ( please be kind :) )

The best advice a newcomer can receive I think would be to not worry too much about score- just take it all in, have some fun and at the end of the day your only in competition with yourself. There is alot of experience in other shooters, talk to them and ask any questions you think of. Enjoying it is the main reason we do it.

I wont be able to get to your range this weekend, but I will word up some of my mates who will be there. If you ask around at the range who the F Open shooters are, a few of them will be there and are very approachable and helpful. They will likely give you a go with their gun maybe so you can try a top shelf target gun.

Hi Roy , ditto to the above . One thing that will speed up ur progress is to learn how to use a ballistics calculator. Download the app JBM . Feed it perfect data and it will spit out near perfect ballistics data .
U can try different loads and compare . Wind holds and dial ins and elevation correction.
