A safety message!

Post by plumbs7 »

Hi , in Melbourne on Holidays and I came across this post about a 338 lap mag and a cleaning rod left in the barrel.

Thought it would be a good reminder to all! Regards Graham.

It happened on our range long ago, someone got a stuck case and used a cleaning rod to clear it. His nephew was next up to shoot and they both shot off a bench. The nephew sat down and loaded the gun with the cleaning rod still in the barrel. The barrel did not blow but the bolt jammed and the stock broke, it could have been really serious. Now no matter what the gun must be cleared at the end of each shoot, no excuses.
