NSDRA OPM AT HORNSBY

Post by Ben F »

F Open & Standard will be part of Hornsbys OPM on the 17th & 18th of February.Three badges have been offered for each Division as well as range & aggregate prizes.

Shooting starts at 1.00pm on Saturday and entries close at 3.00pm,Sunday is a 9.00am start and entries close at 10.15am.

Saturday afternoon 10 shots @ 400 & 700 (entry $16)
Sunday 10 shots @ 300,500 & 600 (entry $24)
Entries for both days $40 (payable on day one to be eligble for grand agg).

It would be great to see some F class support for this event (so far we have more Badges than Starters). So this could be the easiest Badge you ever get.

You can add another to the list for F-Open. Unsure about the Saturday but definitely will be there on the Sunday. Not sure I'll be competitive with the small amount of trigger time I've had with the new rifle but the chronograph numbers look alright and I don't just go to make up the numbers.

Where is the Hornsby Range

Post by bobeager »

I know where Hornsby is, how do you find the range from the town centre? Can you camp over-nite on the range?

Rob
You'll probably come up Pennant Hills Rd towards Hornsby you follow it and it becomes Pacific H'way after the turn off to the F3 (keep to left which goes straight ahead), stay on the Pacific H'way and you'll come up to a Westfield Shopping centre. At the shops you need to veer left over a bridge (which is still the PHW) follow this past some smaller shops and a Police station(on your right) continue on till you reach Galston Rd. Turn left into Galston Rd then 1st left (about 50 M) follow this down to Rosamond Ave, turn left and about 100m on the right is driveway into Mt Wilga Hospital turn into driveway and follow it to the range.
Hope thats clearer than mud !!!!

I know I said I'd be there Sunday but now can't make it due to family reasons. And it's my home range and all. Very sad.

Sorry,
Michael

Thanks for the info. Obviously I did not make it. Ended up at the TUMUT 1000 yd match on Sunday as I had to go to Canberra on Saturday and pick up my shooting stick after a re-chamber. Will make an effort to try Hornsby next year.

Jim Clifford of Canberra won the F Open at Tumut with his 308 (210 & 220 grainers) match rifle.
