dasher brass

Post by Peter L »

Alpha munitions,USA, manufactures 6mm Dasher brass and the price is $115UD per 100. I asked them if I could get some here in Australia. They directed me to a local distributor 3Gun Tactical! Well, the price is $349AD per 100!!!!! (pre order). Now,consider AD-UD exchange and a bit of transport I cannot justify the 3GT price. No wonder so many sport shops last for a year.

Importing and the costs involved are more complex than you think.. Very hard game at the moment..

6BR Lapua brass goes from 90 USD to over 200 AUD per 100 in Australia and that's with volume importers. Independent shops have big overheads in getting the brass in, aren't cut any slack by the producer, and still have to make a profit. The real question is weather its worth a dollar fifty per case to avoid fire forming.

Would you pay $3.50 per case plus postage to avoid fire forming?

Try Beau over at https://www.precisionvarminting.com.au/Products

He was importing Alpha brass before and may still have some in stock. Not sure if he was doing Dasher

Beau no longer brings in Alpha brass. I had a thread on here earlier in the year explaining this situation. Yes, the Alpha stuff is premium priced, maybe too much for some but it's up there with the best in terms of quality, if not the best. There will be a shipment of Alpha brass leaving the US very shortly for 3GT in Brisbane. 6 Dasher will be part of it, as will 6GT which is what I'm after, plus a few other calibres. Once I get word from Adam as to what is coming, I'll post here.
