Must be a secret. I cant imagine it will take off if the NRAA dont recognise it, unless there are enough interested to make them think twice, on the other hand, why would anyone want to take part when they are not recognised? All they will have is a few clubs holding a prize meeting and lumping them in with F open which will most likely put them out of their depth. A Queens would be out of the question because the state or territory wont hold an event for an unrecognised category. There would be pretty much nothing available for those momentarily interested.

Tom,
Not sure why you started this thread - are you interested in shooting F/TR, because if you're not, then I'd be interested to know what you're trying to achieve?
Linda,
Please move your discussion to this
new thread where your positive input will be welcome.

Im being realistic Alan, Whats the point of the class if the NRAA doesn't recognise it?
I would have a go at it but only if it's a recognised dicipline under SSR's, Otherwise there doesn't seem to be much of a point to it all. What am I trying to achieve??? Im just giving an honest opinion and im betting very accurate assessment of the dilemma F/TR faces without NRAA approval.
In the mean time, chuck it in with F Open, it would be a great way of making that class look like it has a good following, maybe thats why you like the idea of it so much!

And unless clubs and State Associations actually start doing it, the NRAA cannot be expected to recognise it. They rarely make changes unless there is a demonstrated need.

Yea right...

As far as I'm concerned F/TR may technically need to be included in F-Open, but it will stand on its own in every other way.

Tom,
Are you going to shoot F/TR, if not, why do you care?
If it brings new shooters in to the sport and doesnt impact on the other classes, why should we care, it should be encouraged I think. F/TR should do both of those things.

If the NRAA were to introduce every proposal instantly then we'd end up with 511 different classes, each with a single shooter in them and the 3 original classes with less then 10 people in each.
If we can show cause, they will introduce F/TR.
After all who came first, the chicken or the egg?
(Answer: The chicken came first. A two year study by scientists proved it

It's not me you have to convince mate, direct that comment toward the NRAA and get back to us with their reply. As for your question about me shooting F/TR, I suggest you go back and read my previous post again.

TOM, you do not need the NRAA's permission to shoot F/TR.

Tom,
I apologise, I misread your comment.
NRAA still havent said what the go is as far as Im aware so we have no idea whats happening regarding F/TR. Im going to bring it up as soon as Im a full member of Bass/Bellvue RC.

You may be correct Linda, but it would be far more beneficial to the classes growth if it were supported by the NRAA, I think state associations would be very tentative with including something in a Queens that is not recognised by their boss and it wouldn't be a part of the nationals for obvious reasons.

If we want F/TR we are going to have to work for it.
States will take it on board at their Queens if the membership asks for it, to do this we have to prove it is a growth area for our sport.
Do I see it as the future of our sport? Yes. This is why I am so vocal and passionate about it.
If we sit around an wait for the NRAA to support it, we will still be discussing this in 2022. It isn't going to happen unless we do it ourselves.
It will not be easy, but it will be worth it.

I totally agree Linda
Tom you obviously don’t understand how things work in regard to the NRAA
How do you think FS and FO started it wasn’t a decision form on high it started from the ground up.
How about some input how you could assist in your area on getting it of the ground

because its all about bumps on the mound and who cares what flavour you like.

Raven,
The class and it's popularity will speak for itself, If it appeals to people it will progress, I cant just force it down peoples throat and make them do it, I can offer it to prospective members, the same as I show them every other class of shooting available within our organisation, they can then choose what they want. As long as I explain what each class is and show them to the best of my ability how to do it my job is done.

Yep you’re correct Tom
And I reckon there is a niche for this discipline
I am receiving questions and ppl that what to know what is required all the time this can only be a positive thing for the sport in general
