No arguments here about repeatability, but no good repeating a shot if you carnt see where to aim it. But we are not hear to split hairs, repeatability and clarity go together like salt and pepper, no good having one without the other. Sightron scope are a very good choice, i just favour nightforce

For under 2K the best target scope would have to be the Nightforce BR 12x42x56.
It has been tried and tested by thousands and it just works great.

There is no doubt that a NightForce BR can cover the range from 300 to 1000y - even to 1200y for Match Rifle.
BUT it has to be mounted with great care to successfully span this range of distances.

One extremely versatile option is to use Burris Signature Zee mounting rings which have fine adjustment within the rings/inserts.
They are fiddly to set up but do solve the problem. Any of the cheap collimators make this much easier.

My experience is that Sightron can be good but seem a little variable re optical quality.

Repeatability and Optical clarity are obviously both important but in my opinion Repeatability is MORE important.

There was a time when some of us were pleased to have/afford a Leupold,the 8ˋ5—25 x50 LR,tons of elevation and windage,surely good enough when matched to a Howa.Perhaps there is a reason for FFP reticules,but for F class I have no idea why.

That’s an overwhelming response towards nightforce, just remember that with the warranties offered these days being transferable you don’t have to buy new. Your still going to get quality,repeatability, reliability, and everything else you need at lower than new but fair price when buying secound hand.
Put a request on WTB ( wanted to buy) in on this forum and see what is available.
Ultimately it’s up to you to look through and and test where available the scopes on offer and make a descision that’s right for you. Happy hunting. Buy once buy well

be patient i picked up an nxs 8-32moar t reticle .125moa adjustent for $1800.00,a couple of years ago, could not be happier with it, and i know i will always get my money back if i ever give up shooting. it is far better than the human behind it.

I haven't owned a NF BR so can't comment other than there's plenty of them in use.

Like Barry says zero at 300 setup scope so the elevation is as low as possible eg my 6mm is at 5moa at 300

Ditto on what Bill says above, I also use a Nightforce BR regularly out to 900 metres
no problems. Will even stretch out to 1000m but not to much elevation left.

What rounds are you using because for slower/heavy rounds as commented above it doesn't seem like there's enough MOA on that model of Night Force

But faster/lighter round with a much higher velocity it seems ok

I guess that leads onto another question, which I'll break out into a different thread on bullet size/velocity/accuracy

Forgot to say, shooting a 6mm Dasher, 105 Bergers right at 3000 fps
