Low power - 10 X or even lower - can be plenty accurate but to get the best out of it, aiming at the centre and knob twiddling for wind is far better.
Aim off for wind is more repeatable at higher magnification. But accuracy will not be better than the lower magnification aimed at centre.
One reason I like scopes of around 20 - 25 magnification is that mirage shows well and is usually readable in a riflescope just like in a spotting scope.
There are people who win using lower power. There are people who win using high power. Its a very personal choice.
