If they are registered firearms that WA Pol have approved permits to acquire for and he is securing them in a locked and safe area then he has complied. No matter how much they want to beat it up into a story.

We can see that on 5/11/2018 David Letizia took the Commissioner of Police to the WA SAT. The case was dismissed by mutual consent on 12/04/2019

On 26/08/2021 David Anthony Letizia again took the Commissioner of police to the WA SAT. Judgement was completed on 28/04/2022 but unfortunately that outcome is, for some reason, not published.

According to Brett B, Mr Letizia's bunker was discovered 9 months ago making the date around May 2022 which looks to be only a few days after this judgement.

In SA we already can't have .338 lap or anything bigger unless you have a pretty serious purpose of use as justification. Like you might need to prove you own a properly with multiple thousand acres (or employed as a contract pest eradicator) and with terrane that isn't accessible by vehicle and you have some sort of large feral that needs to be eradicated at extended range.

The fact they have been sitting on this story since May 2022, and the other media activity (agenda setting as mentioned in an earlier post) should be enough for any thinking person to see that it's not about public safety at all.
Old mate hasn't done us any favours but for heavens sake don't just accept the media version at face value. If the police minister really cared about public safety then he wouldn't have published the 'de-identified map' which IIRC came soon after media reports of frightening numbers of firearms in WA.
The alleged offences don't justify having all the firearms destroyed IMO.

It would be interesting to know the details of the "improper storage" fair enough on unregistered though.

The fact everyone is concentrating on the story of the guy with "bunker"(some what half a year old), not the release of a list of banned cartridges shows the community here does not understand the situation at all.

The fact that shooters themselves fell for this "setup story" just proves that shooters are their own worse enemies.

Hope you are all ready for the attacks this year as they do need some cheap diversions.
