Well done to Marty Lobert, Peter Smith, Julie McEwan in F-Open

. This event will be remembered mainly for the number (37) of competitors, but also for the closeness of the finish, with Peter Smith making a determined bid with 2 possibles at 800m, only to be pipped by a few super Vs.
Overall, conditions were very light, or at least they were when I shot. A few little tricky bits, but when the mirage was there, it was reasonably reliable.
It may be some time before we get these numbers at a Queens again, but the general concensus is that F-Open may be at the beginning of a growth spurt.
The F-Class Teams event kicked off this afternoon with Captain's meeting and "Meet & Greet" for all competitors. It's practice tomorrow followed by a 15 shot match.
More tomorrow night.

Teams results Match 1 5 shooters 15 shots @ 800m
F-Std 1 Qld 416.15, 2 NQld 410.18, 3 SA 409.17, 4 NSW 407.18, 5 Vic 399.06, 6 Tas 398.12
F-Open 1 SA 430.21, 2 NSW 428.15, 3 Vic 425.21, 4 NQld 413.14, 5 Qld 396.11
Conditions started okay, then quite a nasty patch, then improved again. A real test for coaches at times. Well done to the winners, particularly the coaches.

Wait til bruce sees the FO results and restarts the sledging

brad,
pimping rifles is only one of those 1 percenters, but all these little things add up.
no point in sledging now. its all hard slog by the teams now, and it's not over 'till it's finished.
like the song says "there'll be time enough for counting, when the day is done".
now is the time to "know when to hold 'em, know when to fold em".
keep safe,
bruce.

One of my favourite songs Bruce, should we be hoping they gamble, maybe all or nothing...

all or nothing. that's how you play this game lynn.
but it never hurts to have an ace up the sleeve.
in this case the ace is months of fine tuning the pimping of their rifles.
it would be almost impossible to improve their gear in that area.
and having the funny gun there as a pimping figurehead is the icing on the cake. it's like having a higher being in the team, almost a religious experience.
keep safe,
bruce.

Congratulations to Jake Sauwer for his first win in TR.
Congrats as well to regular podium finishers Marty, Peter Smith and Julie Mc Ewan for their close finish and to Darryl Barlow for another F STD win.
Is there any list of shooters and wind coaches in the teams matches?

not wanting to preempt anything , but it would appear that ....................
"prior preperation and pimping prevents poor performance".
in fact it would appear that the gaintwist barrels had very little advantage.
keep safe,
bruce.
