Rumor has it the Aussie won the teams match at the US Nationals.

Will try to find out more details.

Rumour was correct Craig. Today was the US Nationals 4 man teams - 2 x 20 shots at 1000yd. We put in two Open and two F/TR teams - One Open team won, and one F/TR came second - fantastic effort by all concerned - particularly the coaches - it was the worst conditions I've seen at the range so far. And there were a lot of teams, 17 in F-Open I was told. Linda will be sending me photos of the boards later. I was helping a bit with marking and scoring for the other Open team, then went to the zero range for a couple of hours to us up some mediocre ammo - when I got back to the accommodation the celebrations seemed to be over - everyone was industriously into reloading for tomorrow. A real morale booster for the team.

The grading systems interesting. Haven't decided if I think its a good thing or not.

I am reliably informed that my original informant was unreliable, and that at least the F-Open win was just for one of the two stages of the team shoot. We'll know more when (if?) the results are posted online.

Denis,

In my opinion there are some things they do better than us here, others not. The grading system seems more elitist than ours, but I don't know the details of how it works.

Here's the full team results. Looks like Australian F-Open and F/TR finished 3rd and 2nd respectively - great going.

What an outstanding start to the competition for "the Team". You are right up there with the very best in the world...........but we all knew that anyway (especially those of us who have been whupped by you at home). Makes me very proud to be an Aussie ! =D> =D> =D>

Congrats to the Aussie FO and F/TR teams!!!! Nice shooting. 2nd and 3rd is nothing to sneeze at on a range so far from our own.

I am very proud of the whole team. Our coaches did an amazing job in incredible conditions. i take my hat off to them. :) Spirits and moral has been boosted within the team as they realise anything is now possible...

Last day of the Nationals ahead. Which means the last day for some to settle on a load and get their rifles shooting. The afternoon heat has been playing havoc with blown primers and pressure signs within the FTR team.

The Aussies are flying the flag high. :) with rested shooters going into the Worlds, things are looking good.

Many "fans" are probably checking accurateshooter regularly anyway, but here is a shortcut to an updated Individual List ex the US. which is unofficial but is interesting data.

Hello again. The US Nats are over. Weather was pretty tough again today although probably a little easier than yesterday. Most shooters dropped more points today than previously. I dropped 13 and Marty was similar. Hopefully we'll all know exactly how we fared later.

You can expect to see improvements from nearly all of us in the Worlds. Many of us have had to use the Nationals to test loads - I've used a different load every range, in fact today I tested 4 x 10 shot loads over the two 20 shot matches. And there are other Team members who have some pretty good excuses e.g. illness, bad brass etc.

We have a team photo then the US Nationals dinner tonight - hope it doesn't drag on - reloading time is valuable.

I may get a scoreboard photo later.

Catch you later
Alan
