Graham, Josh has finally got his saum going as well and managed a 66.9 yesterday. Are you going to bring the 7mm to Warwick? I wouldn't mind a look at it

Yes Josh is a danger too!
Well Brent I've spent the last dime of fun mon getting the gun where it is and have to save up for the 708 Ai dies .
Very encouraged with the results on Sunday. That's the good news ! The bad was the Br-4 batch 0019 are misfiring . So will go with cci 400 this weekend . The pin protrusion is heaps . And on one of them kept firing until the primer caved in with no pop!
It was blowing a gale at crows nest ! Up to 9-10 moa correction at times from a low of 5.5 moa. Only got a sighter at 600 yds before the first misfire . Pulled the case and 2208 everywhere and stuck pill ! Mr Mace gave me a hand to clean it up ( thanks!) but put It away for that detail!
At 500 yds had another 6 or so misfires with the same results ! But.. Mr Brisky helped me to take out the range with a 87.4 clearing the next 7 mm by 2 points ! D Brisky was 85.?? Standard . The next .308 was 83.?? .
So it seems very user friendly in the bags under recoil . Ok that is it I'll not torture you all with a blog ! So that is it , no more posting on this one. But she shoots !

When misfires occur, the first thing to get blamed is the primer,in fact most times it isn't the fault of the primer.I would be looking elsewhere.

Turning a little too far into the shoulder can cause those misfires when forming AI cases. I had the same problem with the cci-450s when fireforming. Once formed no misfires at all. I went to fed205s to fire form and they did the job well.

The misfires were most defiantly dud Br 4 primers . As I changed primers and didn't have one misfire after 5 ranges , 60 odd shots !

Were you fire forming 7-08 brass into 7-08ai when you were getting the misfires?

Hi Norm , no brand new 308 Palma brass.

Easiest way to tell if they are dud is shoot some of the same batch again in fire formed cases. Same sort of thing happened to me with my 6 dasher- I went to a softer primer for fireforming. It saved wasting CCI450's with every 3rd or 4th not going off to all of them going off. Not sure how you were fireforming, but a 30 thou jam, 3-4 thou neck tension and a soft primer was fundamental to get them going off every time.

Brad , that sounds exactly what was happening to me ! U maybe onto something ! Righto I'll try again with fire formed brass . But what gets me is that I kept cycling the bolt and pulling the trigger until the primer caved in !
But the above is worth trying out with fired brass!

Yes I found it out the hard way. No point keeping the info a secret. Was there any difference in the primers (cratering at all?) between the fireform loads that went off, and resized and re fired cases?
