Yeah make your own. I found centerless ground lineal bar. then use Z series roller bearings as they have lower seal friction. no they aren't thrust bearings but even small bearings will carry around 1/3 of their radial load in thrust which is adequate for cleaning rods.

I have a Gunslick at the moment, it's coated and the handle is comfortable. No problems so far.
