The senate voting has changed a bit. You do get to vote in the order that 'you' decide. After 6 preferences it goes no further so the person who got something like 0.001% of the vote at the last elections and managed to get a seat in the senate by the never ending adding on of preferences will not be able to this election.
Cannot find anything on the lower house yet, but, again you can allocate your vote and preferences to whom you choose 'if' you number enough boxes below the line?

That's exactly the point I was trying to make. You don't HAVE to choose between a few pre-planned sets of choices made by political parties. Be your own person. VOTE BELOW THE LINE!
