To clarify more about rebuilding a position, there are degrees:
The most extreme is to stand-up and start from scratch. (incidentally this is a training exercise in smallbore. Sight in, stand-up, get back down and shoot. You shot should be in the same group. Repeat).
The next is removing the butt from your shoulder and rebuild from there.
The next is lifting your right elbow off the ground and rebuild from there.

My reload routine after a shot is:
open bolt remove case
place next round in but not close bolt
adjust sights if needed
grip handle
place right elbow
place cheek
check natural point of aim
close bolt
grip handle
start shot routine

Regarding stocks, you can also look at an Anschutz Precise stock for the 20 series action. John Widden uses one with a Barnard. I've also seen pictures from US ISSF 300m championships with US made bench rest actions in the precise stock.

Also an alternative to cutting a bolt recess into the cheek piece is to hinge the cheek piece at the back so it can flip up like what is done on the G+E RSIII. This is what I've done.

CRM Gun sports in cairns are doing some impressive stocks with fast turn around times, really worth a call.

I have an FTR stock they made for me on their CNC, its so good I'm going to use it for TR.

A great stock, this one has no offset, I have a TR stock exactly the same with about an inch of offset.

Dave Mac (CRM) cut this stock, Mr Mastin finished it off. there was apparently some arrangement between Dave and Phil, where Dave CNCs them, Phil finishes them, in the hope of speeding up the supply chain.

Phil was not happy with this stock and did not fit a Mastin coin into the stock.

I am delighted with this stock.

I cant tell you what the prices is, the wife paid for it. Ring them and ask.

They are both great blokes, ring them and ask for a price and time frame.

I will be investing in one of the stocks Neil Macintosh. A bit pricey but it may be what your looking for being so adjustable you could reload from the shoulder.

Gerard, those stocks will not do what you are wanting.

I have had:

An Eliseo, great stock, pain in the arse taking the bolt out,
An early Macintosh, great stock, could not maintain your cheek weld when you reload, the cheek piece lifts up, and,
The Mastin Thumbhole / Dave Mac stock, this does everything you want, can stay in position and maintain cheek weld whilst reloading.

All of those stocks shoot well, have won Queens Medals etc, but only two of these will give you what you stated you wanted, the Dave Mac / Mastin and Eliseo, I would suggest a wind up cheek piece in a Mastin / Dave Mac, I love timber stocks.

I do not have a dog in the fight, I just wish someone gave me this advice before I trialed multiple stocks.

Was recently offered a Barnard in Mastin Thumbhole stock, but didn't pursue as the seller honestly stated it wasn't shooting well for him (Pac Nor barrel, may have been toward its end of life perhaps). But also I don't really like the look of the thumbhole design. Still maybe its worth at least asking to see the rifle and try cycle test in the shoulder. After all, at the end of the day, functionality and comfort has to outweigh cosmetics.

I'll reiterate what I said way earlier, that to get your hand realistically close to the loading port, you need to square your position, which is achieved by shortening the length of pull of your stock to some degree. It may well result in you shooting somewhat higher, which is a tad couterintuitive.

Your current rifle is the one you need to experiment with. There's bugger all assistance buying a pig in a poke on the offchance that a new rig will suit. You're way better off gently experimenting with what you've got. A fillet taken off the butt that turns out to be a bit excessive can be rectified by using a filler piece - nothing you do with what you've got is going to be irreversible in some way, unlike upgrading to something that doesn't suit.

I tried to post an image of me shooting my match rifle which I don't dismount during a string & which I have no problem manually extracting brass from the loading port & reloading, but it's too big a file for this site. PM me your email & I'll flick it to you. Never did have anybody take shots of me shooting TR or Optical.
