I agree let the dust settle and bit.
I used a 7mm SAUM and nearly wore out 1 barrel in development and shooting 15 and 20 shot strings in Ottawa
Not complaining at all and the benefit of what I came home with was well worth it.
Not sure how big 30 cals will fair with barrel wear in long strings but would think it would be worse than a SAUM.
It will be an interesting FCWC for sure that I think will be a big logistic venture once more!!

First question I would ask is what powder did the South Africans use in Canada? I bet it wasn't Somchem, in fact I'm sure it wasn't.
I think South Africa is going to be a logistical and consumable nightmare, and you're right to start preparing so early.

Prepping early IMO stands the chance to undermine the next leadership team, and, potentially cause heartache to those who have assumed one thing only to have the leadership take the team in a different direction.
Better to out your energy into refining your shooting, and most importantly putting some pressure on the relevant bodies to push for an early call for selection.

The range is at 5500ft or 1500m. Vithvouri, Hodgdon and IMR are available. It would be a good idea to check and secure stock well in advance if possible.

Hello Chrisjan.
Your information is most well received. It has relieved the anxiety that we had to use CBG 416 in our 338-300 Lapuas.
None of the powders listed are available in Australia. Will have to make do with what we have.
Regards,
John Tracey.
